Plant Throughput Optimisation

KMK was requested by a major coal export terminal to review their existing wagon tippler system equipment for increasing the throughput capacity and system capability in line the new expansion.

This included a site visit for equipment inspection, train track topography review, hand calculations, new plant time-cycle and running train simulation program:

• Evaluation of integrated equipment within Train unloading system (wagon Tipplers/Car Dumpers) including theirTime-Cycles, efficiency, and power requirement to establish the best output.
• Positioner staged speed adjustments to maintain minimised machine load at maximum Product throughput.
• Process improvements with no or minimal capital costs.
• Increased site material throughput by 15% annually.
• Site updates including control software (PLC) modification, equipment review i.e. Identify, specify, and design hardware modification requirements.
