Train Mover Design

KMK was awarded a contract for designing an Indexer machine as part of a new Car Dumper system for 8000 tph (tonnes per hour) throughput.

The Indexer machine was designed with the capacity of handling up to 152 wagons/cars (130 tonnes) with mid-train Loco (200 tonnes), capable of handling the train in both directions.

• Bespoke design to comply with the client’s requirements.
• Full design code compliance with site conditions and the country of manufacture.
• Production of full working 3D model and 2D manufacturing drawings.
• Equipment specifications and supporting calculations.
• Hand calculation, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and fatigue assessment.
• Fully automated control system, with special attention to system management.
