O-Type Wagon Tippler

KMK Bulk Material Handling division was given the opportunity to design a replacement O-Type Tippler. The original Tippler was well used and worn out.

The new machine was designed to:

  • Fit into the existing foundations
  • Handle an increased wagon load from 135t to 150t
  • Include KMK’s design upgrade features
  • Handle continuous trains and single wagons
  • Reduce expensive wear of the rack/pinion drive system

Using proven in house technology (including FEA) and methods of design, KMK improved the balance and efficiency of the new system, resulting in an overall weight reduction and lower drive power/torque requirements. The wagon Clamp system was redesigned and significantly simplified, to further reduce weight and maintenance.

Installation was trouble free, due to key assembly features built in to the design.

Positive client feedback included comments such as “smooth and quiet operation”.
